Atenolol (Tenormin®) is a beta-blocker(lowers heart rate /blood pressure) that may be prescribed for patients who cannot tolerate propranolol because of side effects or certain medical conditions. Common side effects include fatigue, dizziness, slow heart rate, and low blood pressure.

Zonisamide (Zonegran®) is an anti-seizure medication that may be considered for patients whose tremor has not improved with first- or second-line treatments. It may be especially helpful for head tremor. Possible side effects include dizziness, drowsiness, weight loss, decreased appetite, and difficulty concentrating.
